I haven't posted in a long time, looking at my last post it has been well over a year - where does the time go?
Life has been full of ups and downs and the times are uncertain.
Summer is definitely in our neck of the woods. 90 and humid today - not my favorite but I should remember it beats 30 below the donut, I suppose.
Went on a trip to restock to Costco, what an event! Last time we went was before all the crazy. Glad we did too because TP wasn't such a hot commodity! We just restocked after 3 months so we're good.
Work has mostly been remote but sometimes that doesn't work out but trying to stay clear of this virus, mostly for Frank's sake - that would NOT go well for him.
Been practicing smoking meat.
This is a chuck roast that I used a rub for brisket on and then we made pulled beef sandwiches. I basted it with au jus, it was fantastic. The ribs were awesome too.
Nature is still a beautiful thing - Until next time...

Mind numbing cold
This morning the trip out to the wood stove was brisker than all others so far this season. Air temp this morning 31 below the donut. Luckily not much wind so the wind chill probably only dropped it a few degrees.
Still working on getting the living room just so but have to get in laundry, etc. for the week ahead. The warm up is coming, The warm up is coming!!! We are ALL in desperate need for a reprieve. Last night even the bunny was cold shocked, I told him he better keep moving so he didn't become a bunny lump!

Unwanted Pests
I have an old boiler out front that I plant annuals in every year. Last year a tree sprouted in there but I left it there. I figured it wasn't hurting anything. This year it was much bigger and definitely a poplar tree. Still no biggy until it was overtaken by worms. I didn't get a picture of them but they would line each leaf and eat it entirely. Well, that was enough of that, I got the big pruner and cut it down. I'll have to dig out the roots this fall when the flowers die back. I don't know what kind of worms they are but they are small and, apparently, hungry.
I had entertained the idea of relocating it somewhere else, maybe out by the pond - pre worm infestation. Oh well, what do you do? Sure looks bare in that planter with it gone though.
